Late Night Cocktail Bartender / Food Service Team Member Big Aztec Corner Bar & Big Dog Gourmet Hot Dogs 📍 102 N. St. Mary’s St. | Downtown San Antonio | River Walk Area Big Aztec Corner Bar & Big Dog Gourmet Hot Dogs is hiring dependable, energetic, and hospitality-driven full-time and part-time employees for our fast-paced downtown San Antonio location inside the historic Aztec Theatre. We are a late-night cocktail bar and gourmet hot dog concept serving craft cocktails, frozen drinks, draft beer, THC seltzers, specialty coffee, and gourmet Akaushi beef hot dogs on Japanese milk buns baked fresh daily. This is NOT a bartender-only position. Cocktail bartenders must be willing to cook and serve food based on the Big Dog Gourmet Hot Dogs menu. We are looking for team members who can handle both bar service and food preparation in a busy downtown environment. Job Responsibilities Bar Responsibilities Prepare and serve craft cocktails, frozen drinks, beer, draft cocktails, and specialty beverages Provide fast, professional, and friendly customer service Operate the Union POS system accurately Handle cash and credit card transactions Maintain a clean and organized bar area Restock liquor, beer, mixers, cups, ice, and supplies Follow all TABC alcohol service standards Food Service Responsibilities Cook and prepare gourmet hot dogs and sides from the Big Dog Gourmet Hot Dogs menu Prepare premium HeartBrand Certified Akaushi Beef® hot dogs Toast and prepare Japanese milk buns baked fresh daily Assemble menu items quickly and accurately Stock toppings, buns, chili, sauces, chips, and food supplies Maintain food prep cleanliness and sanitation standards Assist with food running and guest service Menu items include: SIMPLE MAN ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG COUNTRY ROAD, TAKE ME HOME BIDI BIDI BOMB BOMB BIG CITY NIGHTS Schedule & Availability Full-time and part-time positions available Opening shifts may begin as early as 9:00 AM Bar closes at 2:00 AM Closing duties typically take an additional 1 to 1.5 hours Weekend and late-night availability REQUIRED Holiday and event availability strongly preferred Because shifts may end after 3:00 AM, reliable transportation is extremely important. Downtown Parking & Transportation Please understand before applying: We are located downtown near the River Walk and Aztec Theatre Employees are responsible for paying for downtown parking Reliable transportation is REQUIRED Applicants must have dependable transportation to and from work Pay & Tips Starting pay: $2.15/hour + tips during 90-day probation period After successful completion of probation: $7.25/hour + tips Credit card tips are paid weekly by check every Friday Employees leave with cash tips daily High-volume nights can produce strong tip income for dependable employees. Preferred Qualifications Cocktail bar experience preferred High-volume hospitality experience is a plus Late-night bar or restaurant experience preferred Familiarity with craft cocktails, beer service, and food preparation Active TABC Certification preferred Valid San Antonio Metro Health Food Handler Card preferred Must provide two valid forms of identification upon hire Union POS experience is a plus Strong customer service and multitasking skills required We’re Looking For Team Members Who Are Dependable and punctual Comfortable working under pressure Fast and detail-oriented Team-oriented with strong work ethic Friendly and professional with guests Willing to clean, stock, prep, cook, and multitask Comfortable handling late-night downtown crowds Able to stand for long periods of time About Us Big Aztec Corner Bar & Big Dog Gourmet Hot Dogs is a locally owned downtown San Antonio destination located inside the historic Aztec Theatre directly above the Go Rio Cruises dock on the River Walk.
