FOH Manager – Primary Role The FOH Manager oversees all guest-facing operations to ensure excellent service, a clean and welcoming environment, smooth team communication, and efficient service flow. Daily Responsibilities Guest Service & Experience Greet guests and ensure they receive a positive and consistent dining experience. Handle customer concerns, complaints, and special requests promptly. Monitor service standards and ensure staff are following proper hospitality practices. Maintain a welcoming, clean, and comfortable dining and bar environment. Staff Supervision & Scheduling Supervise servers, bartenders, hosts, bussers, and barbacks. Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to communicate specials, 86’d items, and service priorities. Train new hires and support continuous skill development for existing staff. Create and adjust weekly staff schedules based on business levels. Ensure staff follow uniform, grooming, and professionalism standards. Bar & Dining Floor Operations Oversee opening and closing duties for the dining room and bar. Ensure tables are properly set, clean, and turned efficiently. Monitor bar operations including drink quality, speed of service, and menu knowledge. Verify that alcohol service is compliant with local laws (ID checks, no over-serving, etc.). Inventory & Cost Control Assist with inventory for bar supplies, glassware, and FOH goods. Monitor server and bartender upselling and menu knowledge to drive sales. Help reduce waste, breakage, and comped items. Conduct weekly audits (e.g., cash drawer, tip outs, bar usage). Cash Handling & Sales Reconciliation Oversee POS transactions, payment accuracy, and tip reporting. Ensure proper closing-out procedures for cash drawers and bartender banks. Prepare nightly sales reports and communicate any variances. Cleanliness & Safety Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines. Conduct regular checks of restrooms, dining areas, and bar cleanliness. Enforce responsible alcohol service policies. Address any equipment, lighting, or cleanliness issues with appropriate staff or vendors. Leadership & Culture Lead by example with professionalism, communication, and customer service. Promote teamwork between FOH and BOH. Maintain a positive, supportive, and efficient work environment.
