Sushi Hall in Lincoln Park is seeking a part-time server to provide guests with a phenomenal dining experience in a high-volume, friendly, fun and fast-paced environment. We’re looking for an outgoing, personable and driven candidate who puts the customer at the center of everything. Key responsibilities include: Available to work evening shifts (4-10pm), including weekends. Ensure the overall guest experience exceeds expectations and anticipate guests’ needs Provide efficient, friendly guest service to a designated section, including but not limited to, following all steps of service and bussing the table to ensure a positive guest experience. Maintain knowledge of all food and beverage items and be able to make thoughtful recommendations when applicable; understand and respond knowledgeably to questions about the restaurant and menu. Use tact and good judgment when dealing with guest challenges and respond to guest needs with patience and courtesy. Accurately record and account for all items ordered, process payments, and balance all sales/receipts in compliance with restaurant policies and procedures. Maintain our restaurant cleanliness standards and follow our employee code of conduct to ensure a safe and positive work environment for all. Safely and effectively transport food or beverages to a table of three in a single trip. Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment. Ability to effectively communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken direction. Ability to multitask calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment. Work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels. Able to move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is preferred. Holds a food handlers and basset card, or willinging to complete training within 10 days of start. Ability to walk, sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be 21 years of age or older or in accordance with state law. High School diploma or GED preferred. An equivalent combination of education/experience will be considered. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Proficiency in the use and operation of all necessary tools and equipment, including the POS system, Gift Card and Credit Card terminals. (Prior experience with Toast is preferred, but not required.)
